Building skill and confidencein Struggling Writers

This program is for students grades 4-6 who want to improve their writing skills one step at a time.

Around grade four, most schools shift their focus from reading to writing. Students are required to communicate their learning about a wider range of complex topics and in more detail. These demands are a big jump from what they're used to, and for many students this leads to difficulty and frustration with writing.

This program is designed specifically for students in grades 4-6 to give them the skills and strategies they need to become more confident and successful writers. â€‹â€‹â€‹â€‹â€‹

Lessons are delivered in small groups of three students using The Self-Regulated Strategy Development (SRSD) model. This approach combines instructional strategies with the self-regulation skills needed to keep kids motivated.

Students will work in a supportive environment to learn skills gradually, building confidence in their writing without becoming overwhelmed.
